Oil Pastel in New York City 
 
My drawings on location are created with me standing up and sketching with oil pastels. I like to capture the present moment using my love of color. My favorite subjects are city life and old brownstone buildings. When I’m outside I’m forced to react and step out of my comfort zone. This contributes to the spontaneous quality of the picture.
 
Old buildings are like people, each one has its own character, this is what I’m trying to recreate. In the process of bringing a character to life I receive a great amount of satisfaction and accomplishment.
